David Gressly, le Coordinateur humanitaire régional pour le Sahel était à New York afin de participer au mini sommet qui s’est tenu le 26 septembre, en marge de l’Assemblée générale de l’ONU. A ce jour, seulement 56 pour cent des besoins ont été financés. 18,7 millions de personnes sont actuellement victimes ou risquent d’être victimes d’insécurité alimentaire dans les pays suivants: le Burkina Faso, le Tchad, la Mauritanie, le Mali, le Niger, la Gambie, le Sénégal, le nord du Cameroun et le nord du Nigeria. L’UNICEF estime que plus d’un million d’enfants de moins de cinq ans auront à souffrir de malnutrition sévère au Sahel, dont un tiers d’entre eux au Niger. Interview:
